JOHNSON CITY — With the help of forensic evidence, investigators have traced a more than three-decade-old murder to the Tri-Cities region and are soliciting tips in order to solve it.

APPALACHIA — Following a 15-month investigation, authorities on Thursday pulled the trigger on a mass drug roundup targeting 30 individuals in and around the Wise County towns of Appalachia and Big Stone Gap.
"We were able to save some of the dogs that were in pens under the back porch, but there was fire coming out the doors,” said MCPD Chief Grady White. “There was no way to get to them at all." He added there will be an investigation into potential code violations related to the "excessive" number of dogs owned by the man.
